Wow. That looks as close to a recall as you'll get. I wonder if they would reimburse you even if you have since sold the car?! Maybe pushing my luck but the issue did leave me £1600 out of pocket!

Out of interest - how many people have contacted VOSA over this fault? Might be worth a large number of people doing this...

Can I count on a recall if my injectors have not failed (yet?)?

Is there anything I can do to support the recall move? Letter to VOSA/VW? I'm happy to send one if needs be.

Very interesting - a recall to have the rest replaced mine would certainly remove one nagging worry from the back of my mind.

I would say more than likely why they paid and are willing to pay the one you already had done. This issue is why I sold my last b6. If I had known this was only a year away I would have kept it.

The fact that the issue has got this far is good news.

The cost is huge if you have all 4 replaced, but more importantly the safety factor is a very significant one in this problem.

If your Passat (or similarly engined type) can just cut out completely at any moment, it could place you and your passengers in a very precarious, potentially fatal position.

I use the M25 for 80 miles every day, and would hate the engine to just quit immediately, especially when you're at national speed limit in lane 3 or 4 and you have 2 very busy lanes of lorries in 1 and 2 going full pelt - it doesn't bear thinking about..

I guess in a DSG, the best thing to do is quickly select 'N' to freewheel to safety if it is possible ??

I hope they do a recall and end this long running issue once and for all.
It is a pretty dark cloud to hang over an otherwise great car.
