    Default 2.0 TDI DPF Regen Cycle – 15-06-2011,07:45 PM
    I did a gentle 15 mile drive today on mostly B roads, and when I got home and stopped the engine, the cooling fan was on and there was a hot smell from the car.
    The temp guage was normal and as was everything else as far as I could see. Could this be a DPF regen cycle, as my wife has been using the car for the last week on mostly short journeys ?

    Yeah most likely. You would probably a notice a nice whiff of burning rubber as well...it isnt the tyres, its the smell of the soot burning off. Mine seems to do it randomly as well, and you can feel the heat belting from the car.

    Sounds like it was regenerating.

    Anthropogenic climate change, the biggest con inflicted on mankind since religion...
