I have a strange noise coming from the front...It is like " tch tch" ...I can feel it through steering wheel... It takes only a second and only once and it only happen when I start engine and move forward (wheels are straight or left or right),never on reverse, it never happened if I stopped the car (engine on), clutch down or neutral and moved forward again.

So it only happen when engine is off and then again on... Any idea?

Belt was replaced about 5,000 miles ago. Pulley runs smoothly. It is really hard to diagnose as it only happen when moving. Sound is really similar as seized alternator clutch pulley, but I am assuming I would hear it also when stacionary rurning wheels to full lock....

Does it still happen if the air-con is off?

Do you think it could be coming from the DMF area, and not the front?

It's hard to says...I think it is rather from suspension then clutch.

I changed clutch 3 months ago (only clutch kit not DMF as there wasn't much movement-only 10mm).

Its because you have to restart the engine (to make it happen again) that has me thinking along the lines
of centrifugal force doing something to the springs of the DMF (after initial clutching) which causes it to
not do it again, until the flywheel stops turning.

    Its a strange one alright.

    Regards
    Jim
