Is their much diffrence between these engines?

Just wanted to know how much diffrence their is between these two engines for parts reasons

Vento 2.0 8v engine and a Golf mk3 GTI 2.0 8v

Their are proberly is quite a lot of diffrence but the look quite similar to me.

I'd say they are the same.

What are the engine codes of the two you are comparing, that'll be the best way if your looking at a swap.

Hi, vento and golf engines are the same.
the 1948cc has three different engine codes: CODE
*Digifant multi-point injection 85kW to oct 94 2E
*Simos multi-point injection 85kW from oct 94 ADY
*Digifant multi-point injection DOHC 110kW ABF

The codes can be found around the cam belt area or the first part of the engine number if your not sure.
As long as both engines have the same code the parts are the same.

So could i fit a GTI 2.0 8v Samco coolant kit to my vento 2.0 8v its basicly tunnig parts im looking for and their aint but for my vento but lots for the GTI 8v ?

I must be honest i have no idea what a "GTI 2.0 8v Samco coolant kit" is but all engines of the same code are identical. engine blocks are the same although radiators may differ in shape, the same operating temperature an capacities will apply.

further info can be found in a haynes manual. do you know your engine code yet?
