    Hi All

First post here and all halp much appreciated. I have an opportunity to buy one of the above. The 3.0 V6 petrol has done 44,000 miles, one owner and full Audi history. The 4.2 V8 has done 47,000 and again is a one owner car with full Audi history. Both cars are long wheel base versions and are also both Aqua metallic.

    Cheers in advance

    Welcome to the forum

Don't know the difference in fuel consumption and performance between the two, but you will have looked into that already.

    Couple of thoughts are:
The only reason to get the smaller engine is to reduce fuel consumption, so it becomes a calculation, relative cost of the cars, vs. the number of miles you'll cover. On a previous car I saved £5k by buying a larger petrol engine, which covered my additional fuel for several years, and I had the pleasure of the bigger engine for those years. Then took a big hit when I sold it

The other point is about the performance you need from the car. The only time you need more performance is when you find yourself on full throttle for too long. These aren't sports cars, they are brilliant, fast cruisers, so you may not need the 4.2, try the 3.0 and see if you get frustrated with the acceleration
