    hi all,

was changing the filters today and removed the hose leading to the air cooler and noticed a small amount of oil came out. took off the ones below the car and found the same.

the car is running fine. is this ok or does it need investigated?

Sounds normal, i had the same in mine first time i looked. Then hardly any every time i checked on a service after.

Just the result of oil vapour from the breather being cooled by the intercooler and turning back into oil.

Check again next service, if loads comes out again then look into the turbo oil seals.

It is not normal. You need explain more clearly but it sounds as if your oil cooler is leaking into the coolant. Regards Peter

If you mean the inter-cooler plumbing has some oil inside it,
then its nothing to lose sleep over

Aye, its the hoses leading to the inter-cooler.

so this is normal? i looked it up on Elsa and it said some water should come out, not oil.

If this is the pipe from the turbo across the front of the car then into the inter cooler, then there will be a small amount of oil in there both from the breather system and from turbo bearing seepage. Water in there is not normal. Where exactly in Elsawin does if state what water may be in there. Regards Peter

im not sure if it says there should be water in the hose from the turbo but it does say there should be water in the two hoses from underneath the car, think they were U shaped and leading out of the intercooler. ill have a look at it later to see what it says cant get access to it at the min.

There are only two pipes associated with an intercooler. Boosted air in form the turbo and cooled are out to the throttle body/inlet manifold. There are no water pipes. Regards Peter
