DIS 1 gives an indication of the current journeys fuel consumption etc. DIS 2 gives a long term average mpg until you re-set it to zero or, it reaches 9999 miles.
DIS 1 mpg will revert back to zero after 2 hours of inactivity (driving).

Hi everyone. I'm new to this forum. I've just bought a 2.0 tdi auto c6 model car and I can only get 33mpg. The funny thing is I've just sold my Toyota landcruiser jeep which had a 3.0 tdi engine and 4x4 and I would get 33 on a long run? For me it's just not good enough from audi. I can remember my brother buying a brand new a6 in 1999, and this would do 48mpg as a 1.9 tdi. This mean audi going backwards I'm afraid. Wish I did more research now. Now my brother drives a 520d msport and he gets 45mpg. Makes the audi look a bit dated I think.

I would suggest there is something wrong that needs to be addressed as I get between 39 & 45 mpg on average. Is it smoking excessively or anything (to indicate it's running rich?) Maybe getting it scanned would be wise, do a search for 'vcds user locations map' and find someone on here local to you who can scan your car for faults.

Remember your multitronic will use a lot more derv than the manual or tiptronic equivalent.

Old thread but still interesting. At the moment i get with my 2006 A6 2.0 tdi ,manual bre engine 126000miles around 57mpg on motorway by DIS1-obc 1. Best iv seen was 61mpg. but then i had rough cold start.Probably didnt get enough fuel. Iv been messing with Torsion and timing. Will bring it little down to keep around 54 mpg on motorway. To get little better perfomance at low speed. only little.

Just out of interest, where did you set your Torsion value.
I had to replace cylinder head on my BRE engined A6 avant and since then I’d average 35MPG when driving carefully. ( was about 45 MPG before)
I’ve tried values from +2,5 all the way down to-3,4 and it didn’t seem to make huge difference in MPG now it’s set to -0,4 ( as close as I could get it to 0 ) It’s starts fine, power seams to be there and it doesn’t smoke
And all was OK before Cylinder head change.

    Thank you for any reply
