    Hi,

Twice in the last week I've gone to my A3 1.9TDi and found the windows open.

They were certainly closed and the doors locked when I left it.

What could possibly cause this (and how do I stop it happening again!)?

    Any suggestions appreciated

    Cheers
    Andy

You haven't accidentally sat on the keyfob have you? Audis have a comfort function that opens all the windows if you hold down the unlock button on the fob. If you don't then open a door, it re-locks itself, but doesn't wind the windows back up.

The other possibility is a faulty lock microswitch in the driver's door (which has the same effect as above)

The other one is that there migh be a fault with the central locking module.

I don't think it's fob related. If I'd sat on the button and opened the windows, the car would have been unlocked; it wasn't.

The faulty microswitch is interesting. I know from history that these switches are iffy.

I'd like to look over the central locking module. Do you know where it's located?

Oops - didn't read NickPicks post properly.

So it could possibly be as simple as something resting on the fob (I hope)...

Nick's right - if you press and hold the unlock button, the windows go down but the car would lock itself.
