Tinting can affect insurance....blinds don't.

The reason I've used them over tinting on my mk6 and tiguan is you can have the window open but still provide the shade, obviously with tints if the windows down you don't get the shade. Mine are tinted as standard and still have these.

Don't think I considered tints as was unsure of what quality would be like, and was set on these once I had the set for my old A4 and how great they performed- benefit is you can sell them on when you change the car, and they are really good quality

I mentioned tints to insurance company. Put my excess up and they said that if they were paying for replacement glass, it would not be tinted.
So I opted for the blinds.
Sorry....mine are for Audi A4 B7....didn't realise you were looking for Golf ones. What I would say is that they're great and I'll probably buy them for every car I have from now on.
