I needed to use the horn on my Touran (1.9tdi, 07) the other day, and the sound was a pathetic 'toot.' I compared the sound output to my wife's Polo and it's clear that I have a high-tone horn working, but not the low-tone. I don't use the horn very often so I've no idea how long it's been like this. (The car passed its MOT last week with no advisories.)
Before I start searching for a bad connection, can anyone tell me where the horns are located, please?

not sure exactly where they are, but a horn is not used very often, sometimes once a year for an mot, and maybe not at all for the first 3 years. the worst thing to do with anything electrical is to not use it. water gets in them, contacts corrode, and when you need it, nothing . i make a point of using everything regularly. a quite road, no one around, nice long blast on the horn, just to keep it working, same with the abs, something else thats not always used. nice hard brake (no one behind, safe place etc), a good stamp on the brakes, keeps everything fresh.
incidentally, a good way to find them is to get someone to operate it, and for you to follow your ears.

Hello I have an 05 Touran and the horn has stopped working, I just hear a click when it is pressed. Can any one tell me where the fuse for the horn circuit is located. There is another thread saying it is fuse 17 in the engine comparment fuse box but my Touran has no such fuse. Thanks in advance any help would be most welcome.
