A few days back my gearbox went up in clappers. (was sounding like a train!)
I bought a second hand one on ebay , and refitted it myself with the help of the old man! (the old man did most of the work!)

Thro a local supplier e.g GSF car parts or euro car parts they say i should buy 75w-90.
The VW dealers give me just a part no. G060726A2.

    1. Is there any difference between the two? ie is the dealer a better quality?
    2. I beleive the gear box holds between 1.9 to 2.1 litre, . Im gonna completely drain the one i fitted.

Question is HOW MUCH should i pour in please? Should i fill it up to the brim or just put in say 1.6litres?

I gather , if i put in too much , that can damage the box, too little and then the same

    Kind regards
