    Hi,

    After much research i have concluded that VW 505.01 is the correct oil for my car.

    Can someone please confirm this before i purchase 5 litres of castrol edge 5w-40.

    Would VW 507 castrol edge 5w-30 be better?

    2002 A6 avant AWX engine on fixed servicing.

    Either is perfect.
    507.00 supercedes the 505.01, primarily, the anti-scuff additives are forulated not to damage the diesel particulate filter fitted to later models (no phospor, zinc etc..)

    505.1 is for 10K service interval, 507 is for longlife. Try Jorrily Skoda in Barnsley for Quantum 3 (507) at £32 delivered to your door and 5L not 4L as in Castrol. It's what VW sell/use
