    Hello,
Just joined the forum as have taken delivery of a 2008 S8.
Great car apart from the squealing ceramic brakes when cold. It was checked at Audi Coventry before I purchased it.
I have also taken it to Audi Stockport said all was fine and the noise is normal from cold.

I find this hard to beleive that you can spend nearly a 100k and have to put up with the terrible noise everying morning when I leave home, or when the car has been sttod for some time.
Even my neighbours have started to be quite annoyed when I am leaving home at 6am in the morning squealing out of my drive.

This may have been discussed before in the forum, so if anyone could point me in the right direction or offer advice it would be greatly appreciated.

    Many Thanks,
    Jon

The usual treatment for squealing brakes is to put shims behind the pads, or high-temp grease such as copa-slip. Be worth seeing if there is an Audi recommended fix for your ceramics

Before doing anything like that though, it may be worth just doing a few hard stops from 70+ to remove any glaze from the pads and get them properly heated up.

Squealing brakes is a bit of a problem with high performance cars, Astons, Porsches and Lambos can all have the same issue. The brakes are designed to work really well at high speeds / high temperatures, which means they are compromised a little when working at low temperatures
