I apologise profusely in advance, for I know not of what I speak.

    I have a 2.0 GTi 51 plate. If I get it remapped...
    - do I have to tell my insurance company?
    - am I risking damaging my pride and joy?
    - where would I go?
    - are there different remaps?

Is the 2.0 GTI a turbo, if no then there are not much gain to have maybe 15BHP max.

I would tell my insurance company, you want them to pay out if you have a bump, dont you.

Not damaging it, just improving the cars performance within its limits.

Im sure there are recommendations to places near you on here.

Most maps are the same, reprogramming the ECU.
    Just another B7 Estate

No, it's not a turbo. So not much gain, then? Poop.
    Thanks

    It'll be the 115bhp engine.

You'll get 125bhp a few more torques and you'll notice at the top end of the revs. Economy is said to go up too, which can't be bad.

Worth while if you're keeping the car a bit longer - cheaper than supercharging too

Considering selling my VCDS KEY-USB interface. If you're interested please contact me via PM or email.

It is indeed the 115 bhp. Hmm. Will have a think. It's not that much gain is it, but enough to be noticeable. Is it spensive?

Yes it is expensive! 2.0l is naturally aspirated. 1.8l is turbo. A good remap is expensive, and better gains are obtained with turbo cars. More expensive might be the insurance hike you will have to pay, which in your case will be for minimal performance gains, as you're non turboed. So do your maths, and weigh up if it's worth it.
