Supplier for RCD 510?

Having spent most of the day trawling the net and reading the posts on her to try and decide what to upgrade my audio kit to, I've decided to get the RCD 510.

I think this is probably the best value for money upgrade from the RCD300 and gives me the six disc changer built in. I'm going to fit a Parrot kit onto it for now as I don't want to pay the money for a Fiscon kit, although this might get done in the future when I have a bit more to spend.

So the big question now is, can anyone recommend a supplier (other than ebay) where I can get one, new or used?

VW have quoted 950 new.
OEM retrofits say they can get me a recon one for 300 which seems good. Has anyone ever used them before?
Are there any other suppliers / retrofitters up in the Nortwest that anyone would recommend?

Looking for a reputable installer too, although might try the local VW dealer as well.

Thanks. I've checked with VW today and they say I don't need a canbus mod. My car is an 08 and they have said that it's a case of checking the firmware of the unit that goes in. They've actually quoted quite a reasonable 50.00 to check and fit it for me. It's now a case of finding a good one.
