    Hey all

i had a leak in my intercooler so i replaced it with a new one and now the one is leaking in the same place. There seems to be a lot of oil coming from the leaks.
Is there meant to be oil in my intake system? or have i got turbo problems?

I got a audi a4 1.9tdi avant which has been revo remaped from 130 to 160 bhp! i was thinking if this may be why the intercoolers keep on failing?

    thought id ask the experts

thanks and any help would be appreciated

You might have put too much oil in the engine the last time you topped up. So it gets sucked through the breather on the top on the cam cover. Wipe the cam cover by the breather an check it in a few days to see if that is leaking too. I have the same problem. You need to check the oil and then clean you intercooler and pipes. Also is your egr valve dripping too?
    Hope that helps

comes down to how much oil... a little bit isnt really anything to be worried about. but if there is a lot, there may be turbo issues with the intake side. though would expect more smoke than usual out of the exhaust (as the engine burns the oil in the intake)

As carspark says a film of oil is not an issue, in fact quite normal but if it's flooding out you could be looking at turbo.
Wouldn't concern yourself unless you are having to keep topping up due just to this
