Hi all, I have a Passat sport TDI 130 bhp 6 speed. 2003 reg. 125K on the clock. I have it 4 yrs and it is a good reliable car. Took the good advice from this forum several times and likewise for above alarm problem. Water drains in the battery area were clear. Bit the bullet last summer and got stuck into the loom that comes down into the passenger foot well and goes to the convenience control unit. All the connections were good and not corroded. Loom was wet. CCU box was dry but sealed it up anyway.
Dried out the loom carefully , bound it in tape, sealed both ends ,where bound , with silicon and raised it off the ( was damp ) floor . Put some electrical conduit under it . Remade all the earths....happy man, problem solved for six months...........back again on a really wet day and intermittent since. . Where to now ? Could there be a leak around where the heater inlet is bolted into the front scuttle ? I haven`t gone in there yet. Would like to sort it once and for all.

Front suspension is very soggy ( wandery ). I`m expecting it to be snagged on the upcoming NCT ( Irish MOT ) It needs attention anyway. I expect all the links and bushings in the front suspension need replacement. They look tired. Thump from the l/h/s over bumps also. Shocks seem o.k. and tyres wear evenly.
Any advice on doing the job and sourcing the parts ( on internet ? ) I`m based in Dublin Ireland and haven`t tried local sourcing yet. I have seen good value in the past on the net for complete set of arms/ links
    (300 Euro ? ) Any advice appreciated........rgds...Dannyboy.

If it's still leaking despite the bungs/plenum being clear then it is usually the pollen filter housing seal - get it done sooner rather than later, it will only get worse.

Considering selling my VCDS KEY-USB interface. If you're interested please contact me via PM or email.
