I think it depends, if they are same width then tyres will sit in under the arches. The current look you have is what I'm after. If it were me I would stick with current setup.

Try this for size - makes it all pretty straightforward. Enter details of current wheel (width and offset) and that on new wheel and hey presto....

If you like the new alloys get some spacers. 10mm should do you all round. I'm assuming the rim width is the same? Even 5mm spacers may do. From the calculation used above you should be able to get spacers to take make up for the offset. Get hubcentric ones which are bolt through. You will also need new bolts. I have spacers on my TT, 10mm fr and 15mm rr. Transforms the look of the car!

I used 10mm front 15mm rears on my A4 and looked fantastic. But the rears rubbed occasionally on arch, then 1 passenger in rear seats and it was constant. Does look good tho. That's why if I buy new wheels I'm going max. Et35. All round.

yes i think spacers are way to go. as i say currently have 18's with et35 and sit on edge of arch and look great. would not want to move wheels in. if can work out how to load up pictures have took some of the car to show.
