    any one got any pic of were the coolant temp sendor is located on a audi a4 1.9tdi 2004 cant seem to find the bloody thing

    Awkward to get to but simple enough to replace.

    Sensor is held in place with a circular plastic clip that slips over and locks into the metal housing around the temp sensor. There's also a rubber O ring inside.

    Don't forget to drain the coolant off a little as it'll all come flying out when you take out the sensor. And definitely dont' do what I did and mix the wrong coolant types. Bad idea.

    Not sure if you need this info but it's one of the few things I've recently replaced and thought it might help.

    Why what coolant did you put it I just bought a 1.5L of g12 plus plus from eBay I just top it up with that if needed

    I used blue coolant (G11) which will creates an acidic solution when mixed with G12++. Sounds like you've got the right stuff.

    Sorry to jump in guys, how do you know what coolant you have in there, G11 or G12??? And should I only top up my 3.0 2003 with whats already in there?

    cheers again Crasher, bought 1.5 litres of G12++ today (£8 ish), depending how much I lose when I replace the CTS, do I fill back up to 'max' with neat G12++?

    Mix some 50/50 with water and top up as necessary.
