Extended Warranty

Hi There,

Just had a quote through from WMS (Warranty Product & Services) for £295 for a 12 month 5 Star policy.

This sounds reasonable to me but having never bought an extended warranty before am unsure, what do you think? There are a number of exclusions but I guess these would be similar regardless of who's providing the cover?

I certainly am going to go for an extended warranty given the alarm/convenience ECU problems we're having!!

the last warranty i had was ok
they checked the car fully over b4 hand so i couldnt get away with any faults that the car already had
just make sure you read whats included and what isnt
they also made sure i had a full audi service history

Cheers Bez, well there is an existing fault but I already have cover with them so will renew at this price before claiming. As it is a renewal on the cover that came with the car when I bought it I guess they wot check the car over?!

There are exclusions such as service items and bakes etc which I expect. The only exclusions that worry me are wiring looms, injectors, heater elements and central locking, there's also a disclaimer about instrument clusters. i guess these are standard exclusions, am going to go for it anyway I think!

Sounds like a lot of exclusion and get-outs. I'd just put the money in the bank and save it towards repairs if you need any.

You dont have to pay main dealer prices, find a good indy or fix stuff yourself - it saves a fortune!
