    Hi All

Newbie here. Always loved VWs, decided that a Passat 2.8 4motion estate was the way to go with all this snow coming.

Found one I like and took it for a test drive. Seems very nice and smooth, no knocking, grinding, etc. Just two points stopping me handing over the cash:
    • 81k mileage and cam belts haven't been changed
    • Clutch pedal is very high
Any advice you can offer will be greatly appreciated!

What is the worry re the cam belts? you will change them if you buy it, for peace of mind.
Do you refer to the bite point being well up the travel of the clutch pedal, or just the height of the pedal when you take your foot off?

That's a good plan but due to the cost involved I wondered if it was worth the hassle.

The clutch bite is quite high up the travel.
