    Default headlamp, red leds, hazard switch lights turn off after 5 seconds – 25-11-2010,03:56 AM
    i have a 54 plate golf mark v. I recently noticed that the illumination of the headlight switch along with the hazard light switch and the red led illuminations stops after approx 5 seconds after being turned on. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

    Yeah, I've come across that before. You have a blown bulb somewhere on the dash, usually the cigar lighter or ash tray illumination bulbs. The electric supply ECU is detecting the blown bulb and shutting off the power.
