    Hi guys

I've occasionally been getting a total power loss when giving my Audi a bit of stick. In general, this usually happens when the throttle is on full over 100mph, revs between 3500(Drive) and 4500(Sport) - not on, eh, the public roads of course

The thought of this car on a track he he! It's not an S-line. Full sponge suspension

    Anyway....

It feels like a rev limiter kicking in. The car continues to drive but will not accelerate. Switch off engine and restart - all fine again.

I have posted before regarding another (now solved ) problem. I have a K&N induction kit and a Tunit. Tunit has recently been tweaked a bit. This power loss has only happened since both items were fitted, but I have been told by Tunit that my car should be fine with the current Tunit settings.

What could cause this to happen? It was suggested that the MAF could be faulty, but I checked that (according to Tunit technical) and it seems to be functioning correctly - voltage on the brown/green wire (no 5) is around 2V at idle to around 4.2V at rev limit. I don't mind replacing the MAF anyway as they are pretty cheap now for genuine Bosch (exchange) articles. But not worth changing if it is not going to solve my problem.

This problem only happened once before in several months when "testing" against a Jag (Mondeo) 2.2TD when the Tunit settings were "Standard". The Jag was quite far behind up to 100 when I lost all power and pretended I'd decided to chill. It happened twice last night with settings at "Pretty High ".

I'm going to see how it gets on with the Tunit at "Optimal" settings.

    Any ideas?

I have the what sounds like the very same problem on a bog standard 2.5TDI multitronic, but at lower speed.

Put my foot down to accelerate from about 30mph, feels like a rev limiter kicking in, revs drop slightly and won't exceed about 3000-3200, maybe 40-45mph. Can sometimes clear it by dropping into manual and juggling up and down from 3rd, then it doesn't happen again all day.

I'm hoping it is an engine problem, not g/box, but scared to take it into the dealer for fault finding in case my "problem" gets logged into the dealer network and they have me stuffed for a trade-in.
