O.K. - got the code - Basingstoke Audi did it free of charge & the service from start to finish was superb, including a free 'health' check (for the car!) to boot. Special mention for Emma the Service Advisor - really pleasant, polite & helpful. Well done Basingstoke Audi. (Southampton Audi wanted £35 - presumably plus VAT to get the code)

I have an older Audi A3 (year 1997) which I bought used for a couple of years ago. The previous owner has replaced the radio with a new and better one, an Audi Concert.

I just had the car in for service, but due to this the radio was disconnected for while which turned it into safe mode. How do I get a new unlock code or how do I reset the unlock code for the radio to make it work properly again?

I called the local authorized Audi dealer and they told me the serial number for radio and the chassis number for the car could be sent online to the manifacture in Germany to receive a new unlock code, but they was not sure if it works for radios that have been installed afterward and it costs £120.

What is my options? I cannot believe that it is necessary to buy a new radio...?

    Thanks

    Hi Guys,

I am new to this forum but this is my third Audi and the second time I have had an issue with the stereo. The first time I changed from a single din Concert CD into a late satnav in an 2002 A6. Had some polish mechanics for three weekends in a row to get it working, never again

I kept the old radio but not code and I have just fitted it to an A4 and have the safe code coming up. I bought one of the online tools to reset the code but no luck.

Could anyone please have a go for me :

    Type: 4B0035186G

    Code: AUZ2Z3B1844422

Much appreciated if you can do this
