As of today my radio recption keeps failing. I will drive along with a stations frequency on with no music then it will just suddenly come on, then off again after a while. A firm shut of the boot brought it back on on one occassion and on 2 occassions giving the roof a whack near the rear window brought it back on.

Unfortunately it does not stay on for long

Seems to be a lose connection somewhere, any ideas?

    Saloon, Cab or Avant ?
The antenna amp is known to fail.
In the saloon it is above the rear window.
In the cab the loom tends to break near the boot hinge.

Above the window is a piece of trim that goes right across, take that off, it just pulls.
The amp in above the nearside.

Just took that panel off, that was a job on its own! one of the metal tags stayed in the roof instead of coming out with the panel, doubt i'll be able to get that out so no doubt it will never sit right again also where i was pulling it the material has come away from the plastic... time for some copydex!!

I'm one of those blokes that tries to fix something and always ends up making it worse and ballsing up something else along the way with it lol

Anyway, fiddling around with that part makes it come on and off, i twisted it in a position that is keeping it on for now.

So what fails on the part?, sounds like just a duff connection to me

as strange as it sounds you have'nt had HID lights installed recently have you. I have read somewhere that someone who had upgraded to HID was experiencing similar problems....
