2006 A4 Avant grille badge (Audi rings)

Hi,

I have just joined the forum in search of some help or advice.

I have a leased A4 Avant S-Line, '56 reg (which I presume is a B7). Some scrote stole the grille badge from the car recently and I have been quoted a price of over £300 (fitted) for a new grille. Apparently you can't buy the badge itself.

My problem is that it is a lease car and is due to be returned in a few weeks. If I return it as-is I will be stung by the lease company, probably for more than the cost of the grille.

My questions are:

1. I should be able to source either a 2nd hand grille or the badge itself from a dismantlers. Can anyone recommend some dismantlers that I can try?

2. Is the badge for my model the same as either older or newer model Audi's e.g. A3's, A6's or A8's? I can source a facelift (98-02) A8 grille with badge quite cheaply but will it fit?

3. Is there any way that I can find myself out if the badge on my model is the same as other model Audi's? E.g. is there an online parts catalogue that I could compare part number's against?

Can anyone help?

Thanks for the link but I did see that in my fleabay searching, I don't think I would go anywhere near that seller - business address in a flat with an address I cannot find on any map, seller name that doesn't match the email address, a very loose association with the english language, a lot of negative recent feedback...no thanks.

I would rather buy from a reputable business given that I am likely to purchase over the phone or web.

The dealer I called yesterday (Whetstone Audi), specifically told me the badge only comes with the grille. Can anyone verify if this is true or not?

Any ideas anyone?

Fingers- you are being had by this dealer. Do they by any chance know it's a lease car?- when I had my old B7 that was leased and the dealers were always fleecing the lease company for bits the car didn't need at service time!!

Get in touch with these people- if you can get a quattro grille badge for £13 I'm sure you can get a s-line one.

iv used that ebay seller atleast 8 times for badgeing and they turned up every time
also when you buy a grill from the dealers you dont get the badge with it
quick call to audi sheffield while i was ordering parts and they can get them next day so god know what your parts man there is doin

Officially from Audi there is not a seperate badge for the front grille of a B7 purchasable seperately. Its illustrated on the picture, but if you click on it, it states 'not replacement part' (included at item 1) which is the whole grille.

The e-bay link is for a badge for that allegedly fits B7 & B8 models. Maybe they are the same, but there is not a part number for a B7 version to check this.
The part number for the B8 (2008 onward) later shape A4 is 8K0 853 605 if you wanted to take a gamble on it fitting.

Other possibilities are;
8D0 853 605 - which fits Audi A3 2005-2010, and Audi A6 1998-2005 (also A4 1995-2001)
8Z0 853 605 - which fits Audi A4 B6 2001-2004 (also Audi A2)
4E0 853 605 AA 2zz - which fits Audi A6 2005 on, and Audi A8 2004-2010

Looks to be the only model without a seperate badge. I wonder if thats why some lowlife stole it.

Wrong - I'm looking at a grille for an A4 as I type this - comes with a shiny badge - I am not going to try and prise this off as its a £130 grille I'm not prepared to damage just in the name of research.

i hate haveing to go dealers
but for somethings its the only place to go
the grill rings fit either b7 and b8 theres tabs at back of the grill to relese the rings no priseing involved unless the grills on the car

It's going in for a service in the morning so I will drop by the parts dept whilst there and get the part number. I'll also try to find out what other models it fits as I can definately get one with a grille for a cheap price.
