I have an 01 fabia elegance. The convenience unit / central locking control unit is faulty (diagnosed with VAG=COM)

Part number on my unit is 6Q0 959 433 C

    Searching the web suggests that 6Q0 959 433 E is the most common unit. Also available is 6Q0 959 433 F & 6Q0 959 433 H

What is the diffetence between these units? are they interchangeable?

On looking at a Russian website the part numbers seem to refer to LHD and RHD - with and without alarm system - the site is a bit ambiguous.

My car has an alarm system (dont care if alarm is disabled when I fit replacement unit).

What I need to know is, if I find an E, F or H can it be programmed to operate the central locking and electric windows - ignoring the alarm if necessary.

    Any guidance would be appreciated.

    ColinK

PS I see in another post that the kvw 1-- auto window close module works with 6Q0 959 433 e/f/h - no mention of C

Dealer does not know if units with different last letter are compatible, in fact both units (ending in C or E) are apparently invalid part numbers.

I have looked at a unit from an Ibiza, it end with E. Looking on eBay sellers have units with no mast letter. Just 6q0 959 433

Still looking for guidance on compatibility of these units.

    Thanks ColinK

    I have managed to look at 2 units, 6q0 959 434 c (my car) and 6q0 959 434 e (an Ibiza).

Both are physically identical, with 3 plugs. I am assuming the 'c' version convenience unit in my Fabia Elegance may have extra features to deal with the alarm.

My question remains: if I fit the 'e' convenience unit, can it be programmer to completely work with my Fabia or can it be programmer to do CL & EW, leaving the alarm disabled(which would be OK)?

    Thanks ColinK
