    Hi Folks,
Im sorry if this has been asked already but a few months ago I purchased and audi A3 it came complete with a concert stereo (bose) also near the interior light there is an external mic (for a mobile) can I connect a telephone to this model? Ive read up about the cradle's AUDI supply does this model support this? I am clueless what to do there seems to be no obvious place to connect a mobile but it must of had one.

    Any help is much apprecitated

    Thanks

    Dave

    Hi,

    What year/model is your A3?

If I were to hazard a guess, I'd say the car previously had some form of aftermarket car kit fitted. My wife's previous A3 (2004 Sport 2.0TDi) had the factory-fit telephone prep, and this took the form of a cradle plate mounted to the dashboard (to the left of the centre console), a visible sharks-fin aerial on the roof, and the microphone that was hidden away under the trim up by the interior light (ie it was not visible).

I guess it's possible your car might still have a bluetooth kit - have you tried starting the car then searching for bluetooth devices on your phone?

    Cheers!

    MF.

If you have a BT kit installed, it's quite likely it will be integrated. Best try searching with your phone - that should give you a better idea of whether you have Bluetooth.

Hi thanks for your suggestion, I did as you said but was unable to find anything to connect to.

Is it likely that this mic is going to plug into the back of the stereo or do you think it will go elsewhere? failing all that whats the cheapet way to connect my phone (either blue tooth or wired dont mind) through the stereo?

    Thanks

    Dave

If the Mic is visible then its aftermarket kit. The Audi BT phone kit Microphone is hidden away behind the overhead interior light panel.

The mic wont connect directly to the stereo (no point in doing that), it will go to the phone kit module (if it is still left in the car)

Cheapest way is probably some sort of Parrot kit (or other non-Audi bluetooth kit). The official Audi kit is more expensive (£250 ish from Ebay, more from a dealer) but it is better and more integrated, However it needs Multifunction steering wheel to be fitted to the car (or Navigation system) in order to control it properly.

A few details (or pics) of what you car is and has fitted always help.....
