    Hello.
First Sorry for mistakes I'm french.
    I have an audi a6 (chassis 4F) of 2005.
A have a Vag-com wire and the programm VCDS (908).
I have replaced my original steering wheel by a steering wheel with steering wheel controls.
I also bought the wire to connect the new steering wheel to the car at AUDI.
The problem is the fact that steering wheel controls doesn't work !
So I opened VCDS and I went on 16-Steering Wheel Electronics:

I change the original value 0 to 2:

    * 0xx?xxx: Steering Wheel
    o 0 = Standard Steering Wheel
    o 1 = Sport Steering Wheel
    o 2 = Multi-Function Steering Wheel

but after that the command does not work !
if anyone knows how to activate steering wheel controls?
Ask me if you want photos or more.
    Thanks Thanks

Does VAGCOM accept or reject the new coding you're trying to enter?

If your car didnt have Multifunction from the factory then you might need a new steering ECU (SCSM) that will support multifunction control.

As I said in the MKIV forum, if you have a genuine lead, upgrade to the latest version and do as Martin has asked - post a full autoscan. If you are running a Chinese rip-off, then you may have a problem with the lead itself communicating in a proper way during coding of a module. I also posted a link to the Steering Coding for your 4F platform from the Ross-Tech Wiki.

    Hello!
Yes VAGCOM accept the new coding.
But after acceptance Multifonctions still don't work
Yes my car haven't Multifonction from the factory.

<<If your car didnt have Multifunction from the factory then you might need a new steering ECU (SCSM) that will support multifunction control.>>
The ECU of an audi a6 wich has multifonction and a audi which hasn't it are different?

    I'll post a scan soon

    Thanks.
