Thought I would start a new thread on this as I can see it being quite a popular mod....

I think one of the let downs on the CC's exterior is the dull exhaust pipes. VW could have made so much more out of these so I have fitted these:

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWNX:IT

They are on ebay and come from China - total cost inc. shipping was twenty quid which seemed pretty reasonable.

They push snugly onto the standard pipes and use an allen key type grub screw with a locking but to secure on.

They really smarten up the back of the car and make more of a feature out of the twin tailpipes IMO.

Thanks M3 for the info on the tail pipes. I agree about vw dropping the ball on them. How so much effort can go into designing what is almost universally recognised as a beautiful car and then forget to put decent chrome tailpipes on it bemuses me. My new Bejing pipes are on their way to me.

Seems to me that very few diesel cars have nice chrome tips, would appear to be reserved for the petrols.

Dunno if this is due to concerns over sooting, or temperatures, or just historic. Until fairly recently, many manufacturers diesel exhausts used to turn down towards the tarmac, so we should be grateful we can even install aftermarket tips I guess.

p.s. they look great in your pics.

I think with most modern diesels having DPF's fitted, the days of sooty black exhausts are gone - will see how they go and keep them clean. I have four chrome pipes on the back of the M3 that I have to clean regularly as they get very sooty. A bit of Autosol does the trick

weird. I thought these looked great so thought I'd join the club and order some. They arrived about 10 days later but don't fit. They look the same as the ebay picture and the photos above but on my CC the gap between the two pipes is too wide so they won't push on. I can't imagine my diesel CC exhaust is any different from anyone elses so how do any of you that have them make them fit? Do you break the weld to separate the tubes or somehow just force them on!!!! Thoughts welcome as they look great but I'm a bit perplexed.
    Thanks
    Shadow CC
