    Hi
I have a Skoda Octavia (2002). I can not open the pessanger door from inside or outside. The door is closed so I can not drill. Can anyone help me to fix this problem ?

Locate the lock position, then I suggest that you follow the door banging method I described.

From where I need to bang the door? From inside or otherside?

Hit the door on the outside adjacent to the lock position which you can determine by opening the door on the other side. There is an electric motor inside the lock which has most likely got stick because of dirty contacts, and you are trying to get it to start by jerking it.

Did you have an assistant help you as I described? Ideally you want to hit the door at the same time as the open or close button is pressed.

If you can't solve the problem this way then you could take the driver's door apart to see if the drilling option could be made to work.

The door is deadlocked by motor within the lock mechanism. The motor is not responding. The idea is to operate the door unlock button on the driver's door whilst at the same time hitting the doorskin with the heel of your hand. It is best to have the engine running, as the system voltage is higher.

The only time you need to drill is when the door is closed!
