Hi peeps. Its me again, trying to decide what Golf to get.

Either the mrk 4 gt tdi 150pd or the mrk 5 gt tdi 140.

I like the looks of the mrk4 and the feeling of driving it. But the handling in the mrk 5 is better!

I like the the seating position in the mrk 4 aswell but Im told they handle so poorly. Im not into modding suspension etc etc but I will remap the ECU to gain more horses.

I just cant make my mind up!!

2.0 tdi is less reliable engine than the 1.9.Also the fuel consumption is higher.I would go for a mint 150 mark 4 with full spec.

So the 2.0 is the mrk 5? And why is it less reliable?

I prefer the mr4 but was thinking mrk5 because of handling and re-sale value.

I really appreciate you telling me that!

Looks like ill get the mr4 then! Does the 150pd suffer from bad turbo lag?

the lag between the 130bhp GT1749VA and the 150bhp GT1749VB is hardly noticeable, they are both relatively 'small', quick spooling turbo's.

With a good remap you will be too busy smiling to care.

Its just that a few people have said that the 150pd turbo take longer to spool up than the 130pd so the 130 makes a better all rounder?

Also, whats the difference in intercooler arrangements between the 2?
