    This is the sort of thing I am trying to find out about. My BKC on longlife has soot & wear figures but the other two logs don't have a value. That's why I need as many logs as possible.
    Hmmmmmm. I almost certain I've seen a soot figure for mine somewhere. It might have been a calculated value rather than a sensor driven one though.

    In fact I know I saw it as I remember comparing it with my dads Octavia.
    I shall have another look when I get the chance.

    Might not be the same thing Martin but measuring block 16 in the instrument module gives a calculated value for "soot entry" and "thermal stress"

    That looks like where the calculations are done for the service interval based on engine load etc. Can't see any values though.

    When the above readings were taken for my BMR engine my service display showed 223days /11630miles left to next service. As I have done 7100miles since my last service 520days ago it shows its heading for the full 18k/2yr interval with no deduction for type of driving. So possibilites for the zero wear & soot are: Too far away from next service or no wear/soot values due to driving pattern. Favour the latter. Perhaps I will try and borrow the VCDS just before the next service in feb 11

    I have a VCDS and a 1.9 TDI PD engine in my car. Is it useful for you?

    By the way, I run into a blog of yours about a Passat 1.9 TDI PD remapping: the best and more tech site I have seen for this cars, please, allow me to congratulate you and to say tks for sharing that valuable info with us.

    My wish is remapp my Octavia 1.9 TDI PD BXE to get more HP and more mileage. Do you think it is possible?

    The 1.9 tdi PD BXE will happily be mapped from 105 hp to 130hp. Driven carefully it will still produce good fuel consumption.
