I have a 55 reg A4 B7 2.0 TDI CVT done 73K. A month a ago, I noticed a slight vibration almost feels like a hum in the gas pedal. It is always presenting even at idle, especially can be noticed when the car revo up to 1500rpm , and smooth a while around 2000rpm, then vibrates again from 2500 onwards. I can also feel this kind slight vibrations from the brak pedal and steering wheel. I suspent the vibrations from the engine side . I have had it into the dealer a number of times and they can't find it and now say that they can not feel it. Heck my friend can feel it so I think they are just trying to get out of a repair

Haven't noticed it in my B7, but I had a MkIV Golf GTi in which I could feel vibrations through the pedals.

Likewise garage could never feel it, but I pushed them to keep looking and eventually they found the problem

A water pipe between the engine the bulkhead had come away from its mountings and changes position so it was wedged more between the engine and bulkhead than usual. This effectively transferred enginer vibration through the bulkhead and onto the pedals.

It was more evident when the enginer was hot (when the water pipes were more pressurised I guess) which is why the garage kept missing it.

No idea whether its the same thing but closest I can come up with

    Dave
