Help please with problem on my A6 (flashing Glowplug light)

Hi guys,

I have an A6 2.7 TDi Quattro Sline on 2007.

Over the last couple of weeks,when on the motorway I have noticed that the glowplug warning light flashes and the car loses power and no matter how far I press the GO pedal, it won't GO any faster!!??

If I turn the car off and turn it back on again, it will either be ok or come back on after 10 mins or so.

I did a VAG com print out here:

I had a similar problem with my '05 A6 2,7 tdi Avant. It turned out to be the Turbocharger. I sourced a new unit from STK Turbo Technik. Best price I could find. €650.00 + €35.00 for shipping. It is now running perfectly. This may be of help. Regards

Hi Walshy.

Mine is sorted now, it was a split hose that went from the Turbo to the (rad?) i think....

anyway, £45 for part and £70 fitting (not audi!) all the front had to come off..

all back to normal now anyway!

Yes this would check - it does go to the radiator but not as you think - the turbocharger is a device that increases the air to the engine by using the exhaust to spin a turbine that compresses the intake. this also increases the air temperature so it is passed through an intercooler (basically an air radiator) to cool down the air which is then fed to the engine.

If the pipe splits then the compressed air escapes and you end up with an unboosted engine, which feels lethargic !
