    Hello there.

Some delightful person has screwdrivered off the driver's door handle to my Golf. It's made a real mess of the door around the driver's door handle where the lock/ barrel goes in. Fortunately they were nice enough not to cut the roof and they didn't get the car or any of its contentds. However, there is now a large mangled hole where the door handle meets the door.

My local garage reckons this is a common problem with golfs where people screwdriver the handle off to open the car up - they also seem to think that there is a replacement "plate" I can buy from Euro Car Parts which will help cover up the hole, fits between the door handle and the car door and will help stop future screwdrivering. I have had a look at the Euro Car Parts webby but can't find the door handle plate / part. Does anyone know the name of the part or where I can get one.... or even what I am going on about - I hope I have descrivbed it all accurately!

    Thanks in advance.

This is what they look like: http://www.volkswagenspares.com/armour.asp
I got a pair from german and swedish some years ago. Sometimes refered to as armoured door plates.
    Hope this helps

    Nice one, thanks very much.

I stuck the words into eBay and came up with these:

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Golf-MK-3-Door...QQcmdZViewItem

I think they are the same, but a few quid cheaper.
