£80 Park Assist

Seems cheap, the £80 Park Assist upgrade. Does anyone think VW are clearing out the old PA on account of the new PAMk2 which looks to be fitted in the new Touran?

I'd have thought it would just be a software upgrade?

Anyone taken delivery in recent days, is the original system still fitted or are all new vehicles getting the Mk2?

I did see a YouTube clip recently (can't find it now though) showing an option on a 510 screen, parallel park or into a bay.

Unless it's an improved system I'd save your £80 - the original system wasn't very good and several owners got scraped alloys from using it

I find it very useful and as long as you keep an eye out in the mirror you won´t risk scratching your alloys. So far I have not been close but I guess it could happend if the car in front / behind have parked very close to the curb. From what I understand the sensors uses these cars to determine the angle and align the car during parking.
