Headlight dipped beam - bulb replacement
Ok, so as some of you may know, I replaced the std bulbs with 80w Sportblue by Ring a few years ago.......great bright white light with a bluish tinge.....really good output and a definite upgrade.......I can see in the dark so much better!
Anyhow - nearly 3 years down the road and one has blown!
I don't think thats too bad going personally.......Just went to order another pair from Ebay but went with Autobulbs ( forum sponsor )......they were more expensive initially but I talked them down and they should be here tomorrow.
Then all I have to do is get it fitted.......A right royal PITA iirc although my local autospark done it for me at the time, he's no longer available. My hands are freakishly big, lol, so it looks like scraped knuckles for me I guess.
Kudos once again to Autobulbs for price matching and service to date :approve:
Re: Headlight dipped beam - bulb replacement
Hi Jim,
Did you not fancy going for the Xenon kit?
Good luck fitting the bulbs :-)
Re: Headlight dipped beam - bulb replacement
Getaway - thanks for the thought on this.
I've had these now for more than a few years and they work really, really well, give of bright white light with a bluish tinge and are very Xenon(ish) looking but for less money. Tbh maybe if I had to do it now I would go down that route, but I don't have to.
re bulb fitting - bloody nightmare and not looking forward to it
Al the best
Jim
Re: Headlight dipped beam - bulb replacement
Ive had to change a head light bulb and even worse a side light bulb over the past couple of months, and both took over 45 minutes each to do - an absolute nightmare. I'm sure there must be a trick to it, but I can't see what it is yet.
I daren't even think what Audi would charge to change a bulb.
