Fitting LED DLR's
I've seen a lot of LED DLR/Indicator strips on eBay and around the net which are designed to replace the sidelights and indicators to make the front end of the car look more modern. It looks to me like you have to have the headlight switch set to the side light position to turn these on. Is there a VCDS setting which will turn the sidelights on all the time so when the headlight switch is in the auto position they come on? It seems a bit pointless installing DLR's that you have to turn on manually. Or have I miss understood all the DLR strips on ebay?
Car is a 2006 Q7 S-line.

Re: Fitting LED DLR's
Can't help you with the VCDS functionality but those ebay drl/indicator units are pretty rubbish. They are of poor quality (water ingress likely) and not very bright either in daylight.
Proper factory quality DRL's are big money as you need MY2010+ xenon headlights and led indicators & coding etc. See Kufatec etc. for prices.
