And will you be going back when you change your car?
For them you are a nuisance and probably cost them money rather than raking it in while doing diddly squat - badly :D
Hope it all gets sorted quickly and properly.
Good Luck.

Same! I had my local Audi dealer (nuggets) wash mine after I (as always) tell them not to wash it after I took it back as they hadn`t successfully updated my Satnav. I actually prompted them of what I thought they should do to update the HDD and eventually they managed to updated it. They cant follow a simple instruction and as a main dealer they dont know how to update their own brand vehicles. Hope you get a result in getting your paintwork sorted!
The no wash request is so common at our dealers that they supply signs which they leave in the car. So far so good.
Well after 1.5 wks of trying to find the CCTV they have conceded and agreed to fix it next week as a ‘gesture’.
They have offered for their smart dent team to machine polish the car. Which I have my reservations about, but being honest I just want it sorted and any good detailer is saying they need the car for 3 days due to the size. This is not realistic with a family.
However Audi are under no illusions if it doesn’t come back to me looking new they will have it back again until it is.
The other problem I have is the original fault I took the car in for warranty work has returned. Can’t win :-(
Glad you have made positive progress. I know it’s a pain but would rather go to a proper detailer every time. I think they are special type of person who take a lot of pride in doing a great job. Smart dent team sound a bit jack of all trades to me!
Good luck!
Thought I’d treat you all to an update.
The paint has still not been restored as the issue with the brakes has returned.
I wanted confirmation from Audi that the brakes would be replaced at the same time the paint was to be restored. Audi dealer could not confirm in time that this would take place.
During this time I have reflected more and I am not happy settling on some mobile franchisee doing a half ***** job to correct the paintwork. Audi customer service view this as a resolution though and will not accept any other proposal other than the man in the van with his polishing machine.
So in light of this I’m having to up the anti and take it to a detailer of my choosing which will be followed by an invoice going to both the dealer and Audi UK. Potentially followed by a legal route if they won’t pay it.
Lesson for all - plaster it all over the inside of your car if you don’t want it washed - don’t rely on morons at the dealer to follow basic instructions.
From a legal point of view you should probably let their man have a go. You shouldn't accept this as a resolution until the work is done and to your satisfaction however. If the work is unsatisfactory you may even need to give them another chance before you can reasonably say you've lost confidence.
You could ask then to put you in touch with their man ahead of time as a construcive proposal for resolving the problem. That will improve the chances of you getting what you want.
Hi,
If you're considering the legal route I think you need to to allow the dealer the opportunity to "correct" the paintwork.
Definitely check this out as not doing so may well scupper your chances of getting any reimbursement for any money you pay out.
As I'm sure are a fair few others on here, I'm on the Detailing World forum also.
Here's a link to a map of the DW Supporters who may be worth chatting to. It's fascinating to see just what they can do on some seriously nice cars anyway :D.

Here's hoping it all gets sorted soon.
Good luck
Andy.
Thanks both.
The fact you both have said I should let their man have a go is now making me wonder if I should.
I just can’t get my head around how they can do a good job in a day whilst every detailer I’ve spoken to says 2 days.
Also I had ‘paint protection’ applied when I purchased the car. This will have no doubt been removed during the Brillo wash and certainly so once their man has a go at it.
Where do I stand getting this treatment applied again? What would you do?
Not that I can comment if this treatment is any good as thats questionable but from a cost and point perspective. How do I be reimbursed for this?
Appreciate the help!!
I agree with the posts above about giving the dealers the opportunity to fix - if you’re still not happy then tell them.
I did have a man in a van come to repair my car a good few years ago - wasn’t the best job, got them to come back, which they did and it was much better.
Also agree on finding out who the man in the van is and having a good chat before hand to see what he’s going to do etc etc.
With regards paint protection, assuming you had something like AG lifeshine or Diamondbrite type product - just remind the dealers that you’d expect the man in the van to also reapply this when he is out fixing the paintwork damage.
Good luck with it all [emoji1360]
