Gentlemen,
As a prospective buyer, how can I accurately tell if a 3.0 A4 was built with or without DPF from the Reg No.?
And then to be sure, by looking at the thing.
Thanks

From the Reg No I'd say it is not definite but for info mine is a late 2006 (2007MY) and it has a DPF.
The easiest way is look inside the cover of the service book and it should have a label showing all the options. This label is also in the boot, in the spare wheel well I think and here is a photo of mine showing DPF.
Hope this helps, Ray.

Thanks Ray,
I had a frustrating conversation with Audi UK about this. It seems they are unable/unwilling to be accurate with DPF fitment.
Since 2014 checking that the DPF is still fitted if it left the factory with one is part of the MOT.
So the MOT test station must have access to build data?

Build sticker would be your best, the risk is you're maybe looking at a car that has been de-DPF'd
I wouldn't worry too much. Just check the service book for the code. Mine is a 2007 with no DPF.
