Climate control flap motor question - B7 Avant
Hi all,
It turns out I need a new flap motor - the arm has snapped off and I was only getting warm air through the driver's side vents. I've been quoted £165 from Audi! So naturally, I'm looking at getting one elsewhere but I'm confused about part numbers. There are a lot of numbers on the unit itself and after scouring ebay I can't find one with all the exact numbers - some numbers the same, but some different. (for example, there's one on Amazon with an orange arm, with the same 'part number': 8E2820511A. But they say it's for a B6 - will it fit? )What number specifically tells me the part? It has an orange arm BTW. I've included a picture of the part I need. Be grateful for any advice!
Many thanks,
Brad.

The part number is there on the right side beginning with 8E.
B6 shares many of it's parts with B7, the main thing is that the part number matches, doesn't matter what car it was on.

Ah, that's great Sibmets, thanks. So the other numbers aren't anything to worry about then?

Yep, that's the only number You need to worry, there won't be two different parts with the same part number in Audi world at least. Those motors are also color coded by the color of their arms, but best to choose them by using part number. Also the last letter is the modification code, You can check at dealer or online parts catalog for which modifications fit Your car so that You have wider choice at part hunt. Usually it's best to look for newest modification. "A" is the oldest design and "C" would be newer design.
