Re: Two Stroke Oil in Diesel?
I wouldn't put anything in
Except a gallon of petrol to a full tank of diesel to stop freezing
Or paraffin , as that's what I used to do in tractors at minus 30 degrees. This used a lot in Canada and nearly 100% paraffin
Fuel injector pumps are self lubricated ( diesel ) or oil from engine , just don't run out of fuel & frequent oil changes
Re: Two Stroke Oil in Diesel?
We have summer and winter diesel in this country so the winter derv has more ? in it to combat freezing ?
Re: Two Stroke Oil in Diesel?
Hi Gazwould, EGR still in original condition, never interfered with by me at any rate. After I bought the car ( April 2015 ) it would go into limp mode, ( generally when pulling the trailer albeit not heavily loaded) but not every time, otherwise behaved like the perfect Lady she normally is, but it was an uncomfortable feeling, waiting for it to go "Limp". My 1st thought was Turbo, then I tried the 2T trick......since then, no problem whatsoever. So I am in the ranks of the converted....Like you, I buy it in 5 ltr containers, and keep 100ml in the boot at all times, just in case I have to top up the tank. And so far in the 3 NCT's ( MOT ) it has had since I got it... emissions were within the allowed limits. So I'm happy. The acceleration is fantastic in it for a diesel, and a 14 year old diesel at that, with 155'000 Miles on the clock. And as I mentioned....600 Miles from a full tank. Would this be considered exceptionally good fuel consumption for this engine, or within the normal range? Not that I am complaining........LOL
All the Best, :beerchug: Jim.
Re: Two Stroke Oil in Diesel?
I don't keep a track that way , just go by the trip 1 data and occasionally see 60+ .
On your build sticker of codes bottom right , OGE or OGZ ?
Re: Two Stroke Oil in Diesel?
Its OGE Gazwould. EURO 3 compliant, I think?
Re: Two Stroke Oil in Diesel?
Excellent , no eml from egr disable .

It's that simple .

Re: Two Stroke Oil in Diesel?
So no further action needed, Gazwould? I can't fault the engine performance as it is at the moment.....Wife refuses to drive it as it's too fast she says ( but its possible that driving around in a 2003 Audi might influence that decision...... LOL :) :)
Thanks, :beerchug:

Re: Two Stroke Oil in Diesel?
What about the towing benefit ?
The engine oil , VNT carbon build up , egr and inlet manifold gunk benefits ?

All -or most run a closed crank case ventilation system-oil vapor drawn into intake from rocker cover breather-, "with EGR hooked up it just bakes the oil vapor to the inlets and starts to close them up with crap", no EGR no hot exhaust baking the oil vapor to the inlet--just fresh cold air-and we all know that equates to more oxygen to cleanly burn the fuel !!! better power !!
