EPC Light On and Off
Hi Guys,
I recently got myself a 2011 8P A3 Sportback S-Line 1.4T.
I have had the car for about a month now, and I have noticed the EPC light coming on for a few seconds then going off. This has been happening on just normal driving to/from work.
At times I have noticed a slight jerk / lag and the light comes on for a few seconds. Other times the light comes on when accelerating just normally.
The spark plugs and coils have been changed but the same thing happens. There is no loss of power or anything when the light comes on, and no other lights come on. It has happened on different speeds like 30-40 km/h, 60-70 km/h and 90-100 km/h. I can just be cruising on the highway and the light comes on.
Any help on what could be causing this will be highly appreciated.
Thanks.

Re: EPC Light On and Off
These suffer from rear wheel bearing speed sensor ring corrosion which can send confusing signals to the ABS ECU which them thinks you are in a skid and uses the brakes to tweak the cars line and at the same time fash the ESP light to show it is doing something. Start with a code read, if none are stored it is likely it will need tow rear wheel bearings and speed sensors.

Re: EPC Light On and Off
Hi,
Thanks for the prompt reply. You've mentioned the ESP light, but I'm getting the EPC light.
The car is at the garage and I was told the Accelerator Pedal Sensor showed a fault and the battery voltage was also showing low. I guess that's what caused the EPC light to come on.
It's being worked on and I'll post an update once I get the car back.
Cheers.

Re: EPC Light On and Off
That's odd, I hadn't touch a drop at that time....:alcoholic
The EPC light stands for Electronic Performance Control and is tied into the accelerator pedals output.
