I've just had a look at my Haynes manual which only covers up to 1999 but it shows the front window wiper motor relay has 6 x spade connectors on it. (If you remove the relay check the brass or silver coloured spade shaped connectors which slot into your fuse box, it should have 6) When removed you might see U/5, U/6,U/7, U/8, U/9 & U/10 where these spade shaped connectors slot into the fuse box. I'll scan the wiring diagram in the morning & post it here if you still need it.
As I said previously, the 9N Polo uses a central electrics system. The wipers are controlled from the on board power supply unit which controls many functions on the car. You cannot play guess work with this unit or even substitute another unit as they are coded to the car. It needs to be fault code read.

Or a indi VAG specialist who knows about the central electrics unit.

Which number on the board is the relay? Replaced wiper stalk too and still no go. Is this off a T4 Transporter?
What car have you got?
Hey dude. Its a 98 VW Transporter 2.0 perol. The only thing that works on the wiper stalk is the rear wipers. The stalk has been changed and same problem. I have the wipers wired to a switch so they are working. Any ideas?
