I was expecting the audio to be Phil Collins, not radio 4!
Stop driving in efficiency mode! :)

I thought it would have said “E2” not “D2” in efficiency mode? Odd, I’m sure mine does.

Good spot! Mine goes to E2 as well.
Traffic Jam Assist - the best feature / option ever [emoji1360]
I don’t think mine says E1 etc just as above D1 and Efficiency underneath it
Mine says E1 / 8 when in Efficiency.

Yes I had wondered about this, I swear I have seen it say E1/E2 etc. but most of the time it seems to show D1/D2, I don't know why it shows D1/D2 rather than E1/E2 if in efficiency mode.
Also I have noticed the coasting doesn't always engage, I have economy tips enabled and it tells me to take my foot off the accelerator, sometimes it goes to "D" with no number, other times it shows D8. So I guess D8 is engine braking and "D" is coasting, maybe it uses the satnav to work out what to do as it will tell me to lift off if coming up to a 30mph speed limit or roundabout. It's bloody clever but I sometimes I just don't know why it's doing "D8" as opposed to "D".
Stop/start is also a conundrum, I have figured out that a light touch on the brake will not cause the engine to cut out, press harder and it cuts. But sometimes it completely disables stop/start and the engine won't cut out no matter how hard you stomp on the brake. Sometimes I will be stopped at lights and the engine cuts out, then for no reason it starts again. And other times when I am just crawling/braking/crawling/braking it will cut out and then immediately restart, this can get pretty annoying and it would be a good if there is a way to tune stop/start to stop it being so aggressive, almost like it needs a delay (e.g don't cut out for 1 second after the stop threshold has been activated).
Would be nice to understand what benefits efficiency mode gives me compared to the other modes, probably need to read the manual again.
Now I am an old fart I seem to be more pre-occupied with mpg than mph these days. ;-)
It might default back to D when you turn off? Not sure I’ve stayed in efficiency mode for very long as it feels like “taxi driver mode” i.e feels like it’s always in too high a gear and avoids higher revs.
Pretty sure you’re right in that the coasting mode takes the sat nav info into account when deciding when to engage or not. A quick click of the right gear paddle enables you to manually select it - certain rules still apply, think you need to be above 40 mph etc etc
On the start/stop, i prefer to select the auto handbrake which changes the behaviour so it cuts out every time unless the usual exceptions prevent it - battery charge, air con, Sport mode etc
Noticed that after trying out Efficiency mode two days ago, mine stays in E the following day.
