Central locking rear door offside(uk) not working
I'd appreciate any advice
My central locking works on all doors except one
You can hear the mechanism trying but the manual locking button won't rise
I pull the handle and it rises but wont stay up however hard I try to grip it
I cant open the door to remove the cover etc.
Is there any way to open the door without damaging the cover
Thanks in advance for any advice
Re: Central locking rear door offside(uk) not working
I feel your pain. I had the same problem. The electric deadlock has stuck on. If you search the forum I should find I cured it by very carefully drilling a small hole exactly over the location of a torx screw which when loosened allows the locking arm to detach , thus allowing door to open.
I got new locking module for about 25 quid from eBay which has worked ever since (came from Lithuania iirc). So before doing job get a new module and a selection of torx drivers down to t5 including t8 iirc.

Btw I was on front passenger door but principle the same. Hole is luckily just between door trim n door seal.

Hi
the rear passenger door is firmly closed/locked and no torx screw is visible
Once I have the door open I believe I can manage as I have all the necessary tools
Could you be more precise as to where I should drill the hole?
Maybe a photo or some kind of illustration
My main problem is to get the door open as it's necessary for the MOT
Thanks

And here is the bit about locating and drilling hole to expose the deadlock arm
How To overcome the deadlock on the rear doors
Re: Central locking rear door offside(uk) not working
Had this problem myself (with it progressively getting worse) and put off changing the lock until, like yours, the lock stopped working totally. I found that a sharp bang to the exterior of the door just below the rear of the handle while operating the central locking opened it that one last time and I fitted a new lock straight away. No damage to the door and it's now the smoothest locking/unlocking door on the car.
Just a recommendation, once the new lock is fitted check both locked and dead locked positions release as they should without closing the door. Easy to do with a suitable screwdriver substituting for the pillar mounted latch and well worth it, you really don't want to go to all this trouble only to find that the door won't open again (for whatever reason) after the new lock is fitted.
