In my current feather footed , don’t want more points , style of driving. Just filled up and after 20miles on trip car reckons it has another 765 in the tank. Thats abaout as likely as pigs flying or Girls Aloud knocking on my door proclaiming the need to express their affection for me.
Over the 42 months (42616 miles) I had my manual 2.0 ultra SE Avant I averaged 44.57mpg. The best average over 2 tanks of fuel I achieved was 49mpg, which included nearly 500miles of motorway driving where I saw nearly 60mpg

I'm averaging around 47 with fat 20" tyres in a manual and generally not hanging around. In my previous A6 I got 50 over 100k or so miles, with more efficient tyres on 18" wheels.
Driving in eco mode i get about 50mpg and in dynamic mode its about 45mpg brm 2 brm... this over 140 miles a day (100 miles of motorway and 40 miles of a roads)
The fuel computer on these must work on some strange abacus, my long term trip was showing an average of 44.3 over 14500 miles, i then did a 380 mile journey (nearly all A road or mway) said i’d managed 54mpg, car was parked for 3 days, then returned this time it did 52 mpg, but somehow this now meant i’ve done 48mpg over 15350ish. Audi has some very strange algorithms.
Hi think it is using current mpg to work out long term mpg. Currently in France on hols, long distances on motorway is returning around 60 mpg crushing at 130 Kmh approx 82 mph which is about right fill to fill being 57 mpg. But the range is also affected, at home it never is above 710 miles when full, today after a fill up 840 range !!! At home average real world of 46-48 car saying 45-50 at any given time long term.
Hello all and many thanks for adding me to this group.
I have just bought a 2016 Avant 2.0 tdi Ultra. 69k. What is everyone getting MPG wise from theirs?
I think Audi's quoted figures are a tad optimistic.
Also how sensitive is the car to things like air-con on, heated seats, rear de-mist and so on affecting the MPG? What if the tyre pressures are 1 or 2 psi high?
Any help or comments/feedback will be appreciated. Thanks.
45-50mpg on a good run, 35-40 around town.
