Ok I have been down this road before but ... all road air damper replacement..
Ok after battling with the upper pinch bolt problem ... 13 hours of swearing then removing the complete hub and carrier and having it pressed out .. Well it came back pressed out ok ... but I then went about fitting it... a few days later I drove it to the mot center again..and on parking the car .. as I walked away i heard that sad sound no Allroad owner wants to hear... The Hisssss.. yup the car slowly went into PIMP mode... it sat on the tarmac like a squashed hedgehog... it failed the mot even before it started... I spent £4000 on it 18 months ago replacing both front shockers.. compressor... four trips on a flatbed .. so I'm very aware of the Hiss... so back to the front-drive it came..I removed the front shock. replaced front shock... but I can't seem to reconnect to lower ball joint coming off the sway bar.. it seems the shock is fully extended and forcing the lower arm over about 2 inches away from it hole...
So my question is how do you get the air out of a new shock.

Ok I have removed shock... I think it looks bent as in leaning over a bit.. at the top ... also it would be much easier to put back on if it was shorter...can this be done when not installed ...Attachment 36659Attachment 36659
