High Speed Vibration - Warped Discs?
Evening all. I have an issue....
Car: A4 avant, 2004 1.9tdi 130
Issue: Vibration from front at 65mph+. Sometimes worse, so not always consistent, but when the vibration is worse the braking has much more!
Started a few weeks ago, slowly got worse. Tyres were old, so just had MOT and 2 new tyres. MOT passed, no front end structure issues picked up. New tyres fitted and balanced.
Fitted Eicher discs from ECP last summer, around 15,000 miles ago.
Could these be warped already? Buy cheap buy twice....
Would a warped disc cause high speed vibration when driving, not braking.
Just to add, I occasionally get the esp and abs lights on, but always go back off, so could be a bad sensor. Would this cause vibration as the sensor could be confusing the cars stability and abs...
Re: High Speed Vibration - Warped Discs?
More likely to be unbalanced wheels. Don't assume that balancing has been correctly done. I had wheel balancing issue after new front tyres had been fitted . Turned out that the balancing M/c was not correctly calibrated ( found out after 4 re-balances !).
Re: High Speed Vibration - Warped Discs?
You might find that the wheels are slightly buckled, but highly likely to be poor balancing, have you tried rear wheels on the fronts? Some tyre fitters do the balancing in seconds and if the wheel is slightly out of true it might take a bit more to get it balanced ok. unlikely to be related to your intermittent ABS/ESP warning or a warped disc, although I don't have much faith in that Eicher stuff !!
Re: High Speed Vibration - Warped Discs?
As above get them re-balanced I'll assume you've got stick on weights,if they haven't dried the ares completely they can fall of,if I give my opinion of eicher brakes there would be asterisks everywhere.

Also check if you have rear wheel spacers. Removing mine fixed this same issue
